A software or UI developer may make something that serves a practical, personal need, but for it to be useful to anyone else, he or she needs to be mindful of how well it will be perceived — and used — by others. Windows’ UX is why I have a great appreciation for the NX systems… Linux is good until you have to ask for help (ie compiling a programs as part of an app’s installation), ultimately it’s the kind of OS that requires you to know what you’re doing. MAC OS is solid, stable, efficient and is simple to use (to the point where the system doesn’t treat you like an idiot) that is a classic example of good UX.

@greyspot00 – You can actually tweak a lot more in OS X. There are several sites dedicated to just that. The challenge is, like with Linux, you kinda need to know what you’re doing.

isn’t intuitive the word you’re looking for? iOS is the king of intuition. Android takes weeks to master.

@fpsBeaTt It depends. When I jailbroke it, I ended up adding/removing so many features I lost track of the amount of them I had. One example would be changing the lock to a fully working Android one. Call it blasphemy, but I do prefer the Android lock over, in my opinion, a dull number combination lock.

@NatalieeRaine if you mean the “G” at the beginning, it stands for Graphical, but an user interface doesn’t necessarily have to be graphical.

Tip for anyone who is reading this comment: If you are thinking of doing an online course with the IB, make sure it isn’t on Pamoja. I had to stop doing the course and choose another one because the experience I was having with that website was terrible. In fact, as you can probably guess, the whole thing was terrible. My online teacher accidentally emailed my password to my class teacher and I had to change it.
